Limesfest

The Romans are coming back to Xanten! To mark 5 years of the Lower German Limes UNESCO World Heritage Site , the archaeological park is celebrating a major Limes festival in 2026 on June 13 and 14.
Between the craftsmen's houses and the Limes pavilion, things are set to get lively when more than 400 traders, craftsmen, horsemen and legionaries demonstrate the fullness of Roman life. The activities range from shooting practice with large catapults to peaceful camp life on the provincial frontier. Highlights of the event are large troop parades and equestrian games. Families with children will find it particularly exciting when numerous participants offer creative activities and games to take part in.
