The LVR-APX preserves an archaeological site of European importance. Ongoing excavations and various research projects make Xanten an important location for Roman archaeology.
The Archaeological Park is therefore a venue for a wide range of research projects. Researchers at the site collaborate closely with universities, museums, and other research institutions.
